Kevin Owens speaks out about his mother's 'fighting as hell' in the hospital in todays Wrestling news

Kevin Owens revealed on Friday’s WWE SmackDown that his mother was “fighting like Hell” in a Quebec Hospital on the eve before his six-man team match against The Bloodline in WWE Money in the Bank.

Owens, who was in the ring alongside Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton with his tag team, described the week spent at his mother’s hospital.

Owens said:

“I got a phone call from my father on Monday morning telling me that my mom had been rushed to hospital and I should get home.

I got on a plane and flew back to Quebec. I’ve been there for the past five days. My dad and brother were at her bedside as she fought like hell in the same hospital that she gave me birth.

The shows in Toronto are always special because the whole family can be together, the children get to see their grandparents and everyone gets to enjoy wrestling.
My dad and mon aren’t here tonight, and they won’t even be here tomorrow because my mother is still in the hospital bed, fighting like hell.

I knew I could have stayed at home tonight. It wouldn’t have caused any problems with anyone back there [backstage] or out here [in ring], so I probably should have done that.

But I didn’t. My mother would have been the only one who would have had a problem. Since I was 11 and discovered professional wrestling and WWE she and my dad did everything they could to ensure that I realized my dream of getting to WWE.

She wanted me fight like hell. She told me to fight like hell every time.
If she knew or heard that I missed a show due to her, she would be furious.

Here I am. And Bloodline, I’ll tell you something — I am more serious now than I ever have been in my career. Tomorrow, win, loss, or draw — all I care about it is that I do what mom has asked me to do the last four years. “I’m not just going to kick the living hell out The Bloodline. I’m going to beat their asses harder than ever before.”

Money in the Bank in Toronto, on Saturday, July 6, will feature Owens, Rhodes and Orton taking on three of Solo Sikoa’s opponents: Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa.
