Kazuchika Okada AEW contract details emerge in todays Wrestling news
On Wednesday night, Okada became AEW’s newest signing.
Contract details for AEW’s latest signing are reportedly now available.
Tokyo Sports reports that Kazuchika OKADA’s contract with AEW, a three-year agreement worth $13.5 million, is a deal worth approximately 13 million yen. If this is accurate, Okada will earn approximately $4.5 million a yearly in AEW.
Okada, who announced in January that he was leaving NJPW and would join AEW, was officially introduced as the newest AEW member on Wednesday. He teamed up with The Young Bucks in Dynamite, and helped them to lay out Eddie Kingston.
Okada has joined The Elite, along with The Young Bucks. In the storyline, Kenny Omega was “fired” by The Elite while Hangman Page had been “indefinitely banned” from The Elite.
Okada and The Young Bucks debut as a three-piece on this week’s Collision.
AEW and WWE both wanted Okada in his free agency period, but AEW was the frontrunner throughout the process. The 36-year old Okada was NJPW’s top star and has since become one of the greatest in-ring wrestlers ever.
AEW posted a post-show with Okada, The Young Bucks and AEW following last night’s Dynamite. The Young Bucks claimed that they arranged for Okada to be paired up with their agent Barry Bloom in order to negotiate his contract:
