The first Raw night for new WWE commentator Joe Tessitore was a blast.
Tessitore called Raw with Wade Barrett on Monday. Tessitore gave a performance evaluation and a reaction to the show in a post-show conversation.
“How do I feel? “This is how I feel” [points at the crowd]. You feel alive. You feel passionate and intense. You want to live a life of red. This is what it is. Raw. Live in the Red. “This was an amazing night,” he said.
Tessitore was touched by the response he received from his fans. Tessitore had brought T-shirts for the kids in the audience to give out when he entered the arena before the show. Tessitore did not think his commentary debut was stellar, but he was passionate and interested in what was happening in the ring.
“Here’s what’s up: It’s that kid who skipped eighth grade to meet Big John Studd. It’s the child who rooted against the faces for Paul Orndorff. Tessitore told the crowd, “That’s the kid you got tonight.” “I wasn’t the best tonight, but I was an enthusiastic fan tonight.”
Tessitore will continue to work with ESPN and ABC in his college football and boxing roles. He called Monday Night Football between 2018 and 2019.
