Joe Hendry believes the WWE-TNA relationship is a win-win for everyone in todays Wrestling news

Joe Hendry believes that the relationship between WWE Wrestling and TNA Wrestling is mutually beneficial.

Hendry’s multiple appearances in NXT have helped him build momentum as he prepares to challenge for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship during Slammiversary. He told Sports Illustrated the WWE-TNA partnership had helped fans realize just how much talent there is in TNA.

Hendry said that the world is becoming aware of the talent in TNA. “We are thrilled to be working with WWE on a way that benefits everyone-NXT and TNA fans, as well as WWE. We’re going see something special at Slammiversary. You’re about witness a defining event in professional wrestling.”

This Saturday night, Slammiversary will be held in Montreal. Moose, Hendry and Josh Alexander will be defending their TNA World Heavyweight Championships at the pay-per view against Frankie Kazarian (who is also Moose’s opponent), Nic Nemeth (who is also Moose), Steve Maclin, and Frankie Kazarian in a six way elimination match.

Hendry, who has never held the TNA World Championship belt before, sees himself as the “champion without the belt.”

“Cody Rhodes discussed this with Ariel Helwani and it’s something I truly believe. Hendry stated that Cody was speaking to John Cena regarding his loss at WrestleMania 39, and Cena told Cody to be the champion even without the belt. “That really hit. In TNA, I’m the champion without a belt. “Now it’s my turn to win at Slammiversary.”

Hendry is a Scotsman and a former Digital Media Champion for TNA. He is a veteran of UK independent wrestling and previously worked for Ring of Honor, when it was owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group.

Hendry’s rise is partly due to his “I Believe in Joe Hendry”, a theme song that has become popular with fans on social media. Hendry said that the response he received from his NXT debut was “absolutely beyond all expectations”.

Hendry and Trick Williams defeated Ethan Page and Shawn Spears in the main event of NXT’s last week.
