Jedrzejczyk was a former UFC strawweight champ.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2024 during International Fight Week, which takes place in late June in Las Vegas.
She is the only female inductee from the strawweight division in UFC’s history, and the first one from that division. She held the title between March 2015 and November 2017.
She will be the thirteenth inductee to the modern wing. This wing is for fighters who have retired more than a year and turned pro after November 2000.
Rose Namajunas, who had a 12-0 record and five consecutive defenses, dethroned Jedrzejczyk at UFC 217 in November 2017. She then defeated her again the following spring.
Jedrzejczyk was the only Polish champion to have ever represented the company. She then moved up to flyweight, but she failed to defeat Valentina Shevchenko, who was then the champion, at UFC 231, in December 2018.
Her most memorable moment was probably her March 2020 defeat to strawweight champion Zhang Weili in UFC 248, which took place at the end of March. Many voters voted for the fight of the year between Jedrzejczyk (16-5 record) and Zhang Weili. Jedrzejczyk sustained a massive hematoma in her head, which made her look like a funhouse mirrored image.
The two re-met at UFC 275 in June 2022, where Weili won by KO in the 2nd round and Jedrzejczyk subsequently retired at 35 years of age.
She joins Wanderlei (pioneer wing), and Frankie Edgar, (modern wing), as the inductees so far.
