Jinder Mahal, former WWE Champion, made his surprise GCW debut at Friday’s So High event.
Mahal attacked Effy after an Effy & Cole Radrick Vs. The Rejects at So High. Mahal entered the ring wearing a disguise. Mahal unmasked himself after hitting his Khallas finisher against Effy. Mahal was referred to in commentary as “The Maharaja”, Raj Dhesi. This is the moniker that the former Mahal will wrestle under during the next phase of career.
Mahal was released from WWE in April this year, ending his second tenure with the company after almost eight years. Mahal also spent nearly eight years with WWE, both in the FCW development system and the main roster.
The 90-day no compete clause enacted following Mahal’s release in April recently expired. The former WWE Champion announced a series independent dates as well as a date at Triplemania XXXII with AAA where he and Satnam Singh will team up for AAA’s Tag Titles.
