Jacobs was recently featured on the Developmentally Speaking Podcast.
Jimmy Jacobs clarified his role behind the scenes in AEW.
The 39-year old was hired by the company as a producer in June 2023, after being on the Impact Wrestling Creative Team for more than five years. Jacobs also worked for the WWE creative team between 2015 and 2017.
Jacobs recently appeared on the Developmentally Speak podcast and stated that his job at AEW does not involve him writing television. Jacobs claims he is more of an administrator for the company.
Jacobs said:
Most of what I do is format the shows, organize information and communicate. It was never meant to be a creative role. Like I said, i was burned out at Impact. I was burned out writing wrestling TV every week.
It’s not my job to write wrestling television. It’s more administrative.
Jacobs revealed that he felt creatively burned out at Impact Wrestling, just before he quit the company.
Jacobs said:
I had done everything I was going do there. It hurt to leave. I knew I was leaving before I went to AEW. I knew intuitively that this was done. It’s been over five and a quarter years. I’ve done all I can. I felt creatively burned out and the company needs new creative blood to get it moving.
