Jim Ross signs new contract at AEW in todays Wrestling news
Ross announced that he would remain with AEW.
Jim Ross has signed a contract with AEW.
Ross announced on the latest episode Grilling JR that he has signed a new contract with the company. His original contract expired on February 14th.
He explained, “We wrote a brand new deal.” “We wrote a new deal. No extension, no new contract. It was the fastest and easiest negotiation in my 50-year career. Tony Khan’s commitment towards me as a journalist is the reason for this. He’s always been a big fan of my work. That helps you a lot when your boss likes your work. We got a new contract because it never hurts. I’ll be returning to do more work. I assume that it will be centered on the pay-per view, we’re adding even more pay-per views.”
Ross said that he thought the new contract was for one year.
“I think that we’re done for another year and that is enough.” “I’m happy,” he said. “Tony Khan took the initiative. Everything was to my liking, both in terms of the financial package and the terms. I was lucky to be working with Tony, he wanted me to sign the deal. “I got my man and he got his, so everything worked out well.”
Ross has been away from the ring since his battles with cancer, and a broken hip. Ross returned to AEW TV at Saturday’s Revolution pay-per view, calling the two final matches of the show.
