Jey Uso is currently chasing gold in singles, but he also wants to get back into the tag-team mix.
Uso told The Metro he would like to form a tag team in WWE with Sami Zayn. The two have aligned themselves on WWE Raw, and they teamed up to defeat World Tag Team Champion Finn Balor & JD MacDonagh in non title action this July.
Uso says that working with Zayn on The Bloodline has been a highlight in his career. He told The Metro the chemistry between Zayn and him was always organic.
“I know that we are enemies on screen, but in reality we love each other. It just came across on TV so naturally.” You will see me and him in a few glimpses on Raw, but I want to tag team with him to see how it goes,” Uso said.
“Bloodline with Sami Zayn was one of the best times of my career.”
Uso won the finals of the Raw tournament last week, and became the number one contender for the Intercontinental Title. Bron Breakker, the current champion, won the Intercontinental championship from Zayn in August at SummerSlam.
WWE has not yet announced the date of the Breakker vs. Uso championship match. Uso has not held a singles title in his WWE career.
Zayn and World Heavyweight Champion Gunther are feuding. A title match between them is expected to take place on Saturday, October 5 at Bad Blood.
