JD McDonagh advances to the WWE Speed Title Tournament in todays Wrestling news
McDonagh defeated Axiom during the first round.
JD McDonagh, a member of Judgment day, is moving on to the next round in the WWE Speed Championship tournament.
A new episode of WWE Speed premiered on X/Twitter Wednesday, after premiering last Sunday. It featured a match in which McDonagh defeated Axiom. McDonagh will now face Ricochet in the semi-finals of WWE’s tournament for the inaugural Speed Champion.
WWE Speed matches have a time limit of three minutes. McDonagh and Axiom’s match ended with 36 seconds remaining on the clock. McDonagh landed a headbutt on Axiom before falling over him to win the pinfall.
The McDonagh-Axiom match took place before last Friday’s SmackDown show in Philadelphia.
The WWE Speed network announced that the first-round match between Johnny Gargano vs. Angel will air next Wednesday. The winner of this match will face Bronson in the semifinals.
Last week, Ricochet beat Dragon Lee and Reed beat Cedric Alexander during the first two Speed Matches.
WWE and X have a partnership for WWE Speed, a weekly show that will air over a period of two years.
