This year, the Workhorsemen has seen their fair share injuries.
JD Drake sustained an injury during the team’s match with Katsuyori Schibata and Daniel Garcia on the AEW Collision tapes of May 30. He took to social media shortly after to claim that his foot “went to business for itself” in the bout.
“I’m in a terrible pain.” My foot started to work for itself very early in the match. There was still a lot of work to do. Thank you for always having my back, @Antnyhenry. F the haters. Drake wrote on Twitter: “Thank you to the real supporters for your support!”
Anthony Henry gave an update on the condition of his partner on Monday. He wrote that Drake is suffering from a torn ankle ligament.
“For those who are wondering… the #workhorsemen won’t be back for long. In our first match on Collision @RealDrake tore a foot ligament. “2024 hasn’t treated us well.”
Henry was also sidelined in the beginning of this year after he suffered a broken jaw at an independent show in March against Bryan Keith. Tony Khan announced at one point that Henry was released from AEW because he was injured. Shortly after, the AEW president would reverse that decision.
Henry revealed recently on social media that Drake was supposed come with him when he signed up with WWE in early 2021. Drake has stated in interviews that WWE was worried about the condition of one of Drake’s knees, and that is why he did not sign.
