Javier Bernal, a NXT wrestler, will be out of commission for a few weeks after sustaining an injury on Level Up.
Bernal went on Twitch after Friday night’s NXT Level Up to tell fans that he had broken his foot during the match. Bernal broke his foot in “a few places.” Bernal is likely to need surgery. After surgery, Bernal’s return is expected to be six months.
“It stinks. It is what is. Bernal said, “I found out two days ago, what is it? I broke it in several places.” “At first, I was told I wouldn’t need surgery. The next day, the MRI was a bit cloudy. They looked at it again and it appears that I will need surgery on my foot.
Bernal’s recovery time would have been six-weeks if he didn’t require surgery.
Bernal, who was visibly emotional, called this injury his biggest test to date. He’s been injured before, but nothing has ever made him happier than wrestling and entertaining fans. Bernal will not give up until he returns to the ring, no matter how long that takes.
In the Level Up match, Duke Hudson and Riley Osborne beat Bernal and Drake Morreaux. The match was taped on Monday before airing last evening. Bernal’s injury occurred near the end of the match, when he tried to catch Osborne as he dived to the outside.
Bernal (real-name Randy Beidelschies), made his NXT debut in 2022. He played football at Macalester College before signing with WWE.
Bernal, who calls himself “Big Body Javi,” has played a delusional villain on NXT TV. This year, he has appeared on Level Up and made an appearance on both SmackDown & WWE Main Event. He lost a tag-team squash match against AOP in his SmackDown debut.
