Castle died on Saturday, after a four-year fight with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. He was 35. Zoe Lucas, his partner, revealed the news of his death on social media.

“On Saturday, 15th June, after 4 years of treatment and 12 rounds of chemotherapy as well as 2 bone marrow transplants, radiotherapy, and countless experimental tests, we lost Jamie Stacey, @JamesCastle49, to Acute Myeloid leukaemia. Thank you for giving my best 9 years ever”
RevPro shared this message about Castle’s passing.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Jamie Stacey, aka. James Castle died after a four-year battle with leukaemia. Jamie was an ex-tag team champion and a super talent on the ring. He was the first wrestler to train at our Portsmouth School and without his help behind-the-scenes, RevPro wouldn’t be here today. A wonderful human being. A warrior. A fighter. The most interesting and intelligent man to have ever stepped foot inside a RevPro Ring. There are so many tales to tell, and we will ensure that they are all told. We love you, and we will make sure that you are remembered forever.”
Castle was a regular at RevPro before he became ill in 2020. His team, The Revolutionists with Sha Samuels held the tag team titles of the promotion for 364 consecutive days in 2015/16.
Castle revealed in January his Leukemia was back and that doctors told him they could only manage it. At the time, he was told that he only had “months” rather than years left.
Castle has received a flood of tributes online from people who knew him and worked with.
“James & Zoe embody the definition of a fighter. All my love for you. Will Ospreay wrote: “RIP James Castle.”
