IWGP World Title Match at AEW x NJPW forbidden Door accepted as a challenge in todays Wrestling news
The IWGP World Heavyweight Championship has been accepted as a challenge for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
After Jon Moxley retained the title in Forbidden Doors, he said that he would defend it anywhere at any time. He invited anyone to come into the ring and challenge him. After a brief pause, Tetsuya Nairo came out to issue the challenge for Forbidden Doors later this month in New York. Moxley accepted this challenge.
Moxley defeated Naito at Windy City Riot back in February, winning the title for the very first time. He has defended his title in NJPW as well as in AEW. His most notable victory was over Powerhouse Hobbs in an episode of AEW Dynamite.
Moxley retained his title at the Dominion event held in Osaka-jo Hall on Sunday, by defeating EVIL during a lumberjack match. Moxley gave EVIL a death rider atop a barbed-wire baseball bat in the finish to retain his title as IWGP World Champion. EVIL, along with the rest of House of Torture, have terrorized the company for most of the past year. This led Moxley to bring in the third generation of NJPW superstars to assist him in the lumberjack match.
