The Hurt Syndicate explains why they are back.
In an interview with Renee Paquette MVP explained why The Hurt Syndicate (formerly The Hurt Business, WWE) reformed as AEW. He explained that Bobby Lashley had an idea that was organically adopted, but ended too soon.
“Unfortunately, the story ended before anyone was ready to let it end. “We felt that we wanted our story to have the proper ending it deserved,” said he. Tony Khan was gracious enough to let us bring our conglomerate to this event.
Lashley wanted to do something special with ‘Hurt Business,’ ever since he was a boxer and saw the phrase on the t-shirt of his coach. Once they did it, there was no stopping them.
He explained that “the fans wanted us back.” “Every time I posted anything, at least one person would comment Hurt Business. Hurt Business. Hurt Business. They always wanted us to get back together, because it was a real thing. “We hung out, we worked out together…this would be the perfect time to do it again.”
Shelton Benjamin and MVP made their AEW debuts at WrestleDream in the last month. Lashley arrived several weeks later, at AEW’s Dynamite Fear Night, and attacked Swerve Strickland. Both will face off in a match later this month at Full Gear.
