Gunther is pleased to see Ludwig Kaiser make his own mark in WWE.
Kaiser has been seen more as a singles wrestling star in recent months, but he is currently out of action after breaking ribs in his match against Bron Breker on the Raw episode of June 24. Kaiser promised to take revenge on Sheamus in a video package that aired last weekend.
In an interview with Gorilla position, Gunther – Kaiser’s friend and Imperium stablemate – was asked if he is proud of Kaiser for grabbing these recent opportunities.
Gunther replied, “Oh, yes,”. “And for me, it’s not surprising because I always saw this in him. I think it was that he started to see that in himself. I think it was the biggest step he took. Now he can do his own thing, go out and make himself a name on his own. And I am very happy to be able see that first-hand. I think he is just getting started. “The next few years will be exciting, when it comes to what he’s going do.”
Gunther insists that Imperium is still a duo, even though they don’t appear together all the time on television. He and Kaiser are still Imperium. If the storyline requires it, they will be there to support each other.
“I mean, right now it’s just a duo.” Gunther said, “I think it’s more important that he is doing things on his own now.” “We will always be together and stick together when necessary. This will not change, but it doesn’t mean that we have to be together on TV every minute. I think everyone knows that there is a connection. There’s no reason for you to assume it’s gone. I’ve always handled my matches without asking for help. He’s going do the same, and I think it’s very good to learn from that experience and to follow this path. We know that we can always rely on one another if things get dangerous for me or him.
Giovanni Vinci used to be a member of Imperium, but was kicked out when Kaiser turned on him earlier this year.
Gunther will face Damian Priest at SummerSlam in July for the World Heavyweight Championship. He won the WWE King of the Ring Tournament, which earned him the shot at the title.
