Bret Hart was confronted on Raw by the World Champion.
Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore presented Hart to the Calgary crowd. He was proud to be the Canadian World Champion. Gunther, the current World Champion, was moved to call Hart one of his heroes from childhood. Gunther revealed that Hart came in second place to his favorite wrestler as a child: Goldberg.
Sami Zayn wearing a Johnny Gaudreau shirt appeared. Zayn said to Gunther that it was a big deal for him to call Hart a Canadian hero in such a manner. Zayn challenged Gunther to another title match. Hart called Gunther an orange, cowardly yellow. Gunther then left the ring. Zayn attacked Gunther on the outside as he tried to return to the ring. Officials broke up the altercation when Zayn raised Hart’s arm at the end of the segment.
Hart appeared in an episode later in the show to congratulate Natalya on her return to WWE, as a mystery partnership for Zelina Valkyria and Lyra. Together, they defeated The Pure Fusion Collective.
