Goldberg wants to fight again, but he must first deal with an injury.
Goldberg was asked if he would consider playing one last match while appearing on Busted Open Radio. Goldberg would love to have one final match, but he’s been battling a torn Rotator Cuff for some time. Goldberg must fix the injury before he can wrestle again.
“Oh, man, I’d love to, dude — 100 percent,” Goldberg said. “But I need to fix my torn Rotator Cuff.”
Goldberg claimed that the injury occurred when he returned to WWE in 2016 and faced Brock Lesnar. He never told anyone that he was injured because he only sparingly wrestled. He will soon undergo stem cell treatment and then determine if surgery is needed.
“I won’t do sh*t until that is done,” he said. “And that will hopefully be coming up soon — I am doing stem cells here shortly and then I’m gonna see if I need surgery. But yes, I would love to have another match. You know what it is. Vince [McMahon] spoke to me about it. He gave me his word. But all of that happened. Hey, man, I’m not bitter. Vince gave me so much, man. I’ll always be grateful. I’d love to play in that final match. I would. Am I okay with not having it? Yes, I’m okay with it. “But it would be cool to have one.”
Goldberg hasn’t wrestled since he lost to Roman Reigns in WWE Elimination Chamber 202022 in Saudi Arabia. On Busted Open Radio he said that his final match would not have to be in WWE. Goldberg said that he could promote himself, with possible matches in Israel. India, Japan and the United States. Goldberg has talked about a retirement tour before, but it hasn’t materialized yet.
Goldberg admitted that he had no idea who he would like to face for his final match. “I haven’t even thought about this, not for two second.” Goldberg was hoping to face Sting in his last match, but didn’t want it to interfere with Sting’s retirement.
