Goldberg talked about Bret Hart in a recent interview.
The WWE Hall of Famer appeared on the Tuesday episode of Busted Open Radio, to discuss Vice’s Who Killed WCW documentary series. Goldberg was asked to comment on the kick he delivered at Starrcade 99, and the criticism Hart has leveled since.
Goldberg said, “The Bret hart thing just saddens my soul as a human, that’s it.” “First of all, I would never wish anyone ill will. It’s awful to have someone’s career end because of an accident, especially if it’s someone who was one of the greatest ever. I don’t ask anyone to understand it. I’m simply saying leave me alone.”
“It’s what it is. Come on, man. Bret, I love you. Don’t be a jerk, that’s it. “Grow up.”
Bully Ray asked Goldberg if Hart and Goldberg would be in the same location at the same time.
“I always said that I would kill him, but you know me, it’s not possible. I love him, he’s a legend, right? Sorry, just get over it. What do you want from me? It saddens me, as a human, that he cannot accept the fact that…it stinks.”
Goldberg said that he will not allow what happened in his life to be a negative.
“I won’t be a victim anymore.” I feel bad, but it won’t drag me down or be a negative influence in my life. It’s just what it is.”
Goldberg compared Hart’s conflict with him to those others have had with Ric Flaair.
“It would be like having a beef at this age with Flair, 70 or so years. Really? What are you going do? Please, hurry up. I love you. You’re an icon, but let’s move forward. “It’s easy to say move on if it’s not you and it didn’t ruin my career, so next question.”
