Giulia successfully undergoes surgery for a broken wrist in todays Wrestling news
Giulia is recovering and hopes to be cleared for Marigold Summer Destiny.
The 30-year old suffered a fractured wrist only five minutes into the main match of Marigold fields Forever on 20 May. She told Tokyo Sports later that doctors had said that surgery was her best option if she wanted to wrestle Sareee at the July 13 Sumo Hall show.
Marigold announced Tuesday that Giulia’s surgery was deemed successful and she will be present for the promotion’s show on Saturday.
“Giulia who was absent due to a fractured distal radius underwent surgery in Tokyo this morning and we are happy to report that the surgery was a great success! She will be discharged Thursday and accompany us to all of our regional shows beginning on June 1st.”
“WWE wanted to her undergo the surgery.” Meltzer said, “She’s doing it.”
“I know that she was still talking before the surgery about doing the date of July 13 at Sumo Hall in the singles against Sareee, that would probably have been a great match. She really wanted to do this match.”
Giulia had been working hard for Rossy Ogawa’s new promotion despite being expected eventually to land in WWE.
“She has been very hands-on in working with Marigold, as far as working with the younger grapplers and trying to help the business. She’s a lame duck, everyone knows that, but she is working hard to build the company. She even leads the training classes.
