Roxanne Perez, who had just won the NXT Women’s Championship by defeating Jaida Parker in Sunday’s NXT No Mercy live premium event, was celebrating when the lights went off. It was soon clear that Giulia was making her NXT debut as new music began to play. She entered the ring to face Perez, who was holding the NXT Women’s Championship at the end of the segment.
Giulia was the subject of speculation after she appeared in the audience at NXT Stand & Deliver this year. She revealed in July her last scheduled match would be on August 19th, where she defeated Mai Sakurai at Korakuen Hall. The match was followed by a gauntlet featuring most of the Marigold roster.
Giulia, 30 years old, began wrestling in 2017. She first appeared as a regular with Ice Ribbon. In 2019, she moved to Stardom, where she won the 2020 Cinderella Tournament and the 2022 5 Star Grand Prix.
In April this year, Giulia officially became a part of Rossy Ogawa’s new promotion Marigold. Ogawa was fired from Stardom after accusations that he had tried to poach talent.
