Scott D’Amore, who left TNA Wrestling six months ago, has confirmed his next move.
D’Amore announced that he’s reviving Maple Leaf Wrestling starting with two events in October. Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling is coming to St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario Canada, on Saturday, October 19, and Sunday, Oct. 20. Triller TV will air the shows as pay-per views.
The events are called “Forged in excellence”. The event is called “Forged in Excellence”.
D’Amore stated in a release that Maple Leaf Wrestling has hosted the world’s best wrestlers for six decades. “Legends such as Lou Thesz and Bruno Sammartino competed at Maple Leaf. Ric Flair, Andre The Giant, Rowdy Piper, and Ric Flaair were also there.” We’re bringing back that legacy with modern-day icons from WWE, New Japan TNA, AEW, and beyond.”
Maple Leaf Wrestling was a popular sport in the 1930s and 1980s. As part of the revival, footage from the promotion’s archive will be uploaded on YouTube, Facebook and other digital platforms.
D’Amore prepared for today’s news by filing trademarks related to Maple Leaf Wrestling. He was fired by TNA Wrestling in February of this year as part a shakeup in leadership. D’Amore, who was president of TNA, now holds the same title at Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling.
TNA’s roster expressed their support for D’Amore on social media, and in a letter sent to Anthem Sports & Entertainment.
