Former NFL star Jason Kelce takes part in WWE WrestleMania 40 in todays Wrestling news
Lane Johnson, a Philadelphia Eagles player, also appeared.
Jason Kelce, the recently retired NFL player, had a WrestleMania experience on Saturday night in the stadium he called his home for all of his career.
Kelce and Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson were both involved in the action during WrestleMania night one. They helped Rey Mysterio & Andrade defeat Santos Escobar & Dominik Mysterio.
Two men wearing Eagles lucha masked jumped the barricade to stop Dominik when he tried to use a chair during the match. Kelce knocked Dominik down by throwing him against the ring post. Kelce sent Dominik into the ring to finish the match.
Rey scored a 619 on Dominik and Escobar. Andrade defeated Dominik. Rey then pinned Escobar with a splash off the top rope.
After the match, Kelce and Johnson celebrated in the ring together with the LWO.
After a 13 year career, Kelce retired from the NFL in October. Kelce was the center for the Eagles, and is likely to be a future Pro Football Hall of Famer.
The popularity of Kelce has increased in recent years thanks to the New Heights Podcast that he hosts along with his brother, Travis Kelce (another NFL All-Pro). The popularity of the Kelces has exploded, especially since Travis began dating Taylor Swift.
Johnson is a pro-wrestling fan who participated in a video in which he worked out alongside Seth Rollins before WrestleMania.
WrestleMania is held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, home to the Eagles.
Originally, it was announced that Dragon Lee was Rey’s WrestleMania Partner. However, Lee was attacked behind the scenes in a segment of Friday’s SmackDown. Andrade, who was aligned with LWO, took Lee’s spot in the match.
