Ethan Page is now the NXT Champion.
Page pinned Je’Von Evans during a fatal four way match that took place at the main event of NXT Heatwave. In the final match, Trick Williams hit Je’Von Evans in the face with a trick shot. He then followed up with a trick shot on Ethan Page who fell over Evans. Shawn Spears pulled Williams out of ring while the referee was counting to three. Page won.
This is the end of Trick Williams’ reign as NXT Champion. He held the title for 75 days and defeated Ilja Dragunov on the first night NXT Spring Breakin’, April 23, for the title.
Heatwave’s main event was originally supposed to be Williams defending his title against Evans who won a Battle Royal. Page won a singles bout against Evans on the same night after convincing NXT GM Ava he wasn’t eliminated in the battle-royal Evans won because Oro Mensah had distracted him. Ava decided to make the Heatwave main match a four-way after Williams was pinned on the next episode of NXT by Spears.
