Eddie Kingston won’t be returning to the ring any time soon.

The AEW star revealed to PWInsider he suffered a tibular break, a torn meniscus and ACL at the end of his match with Gabe Kidd earlier this month. He will have surgery to repair the tears.

Kingston told PWInsider that injuries are part of the sport. “Injuries happen. “I will be back.”

Kidd gave Kingston an suplex outside the ring during the Strong Openweight match. Kingston’s injury was caused when he landed on the barricade and smacked his legs against it. Jack Perry and the Young Bucks attacked him after the match, claiming that they had defeated Kingston.

Kingston was originally scheduled to be part a team along with FTR and Bryan Danielson in an Anarchy in the Arena AEW match against The Elite. Darby Allin replaced him on Dynamite last Wednesday.

PWInsider reported that Kingston had hoped he would be back in time for All In: London but will be out for nine months recovering from the surgery. This means he won’t be able to play for the remainder of 2024.
