Dustin Rhodes’s contract is about to expire.
The AEW star denied on X that he was leaving the company. He said his contract expires in September, and hoped negotiations would go smoothly.
“Wrong! Jeeze guys, do better. My contract ends in September. But I am not done. God willing, I hope to retire with the respect and dignity that I deserve, on my terms. “I hope the negotiations go well, because I am worth everything,” he wrote.
“The only thing that matters to me is taking care of my family, finishing when I am ready and how I see my retirement,” he added. “So guys, hold off, This business is my life, and I love doing this for you, while having fun and being able. #KeepSteppin, and thank you for your continued support and love!
Rhodes has been a part of AEW’s roster since 2019, when he fought his brother Cody in the first Double or Nothing event. Later, it was confirmed that Rhodes had signed a multiyear deal as both a wrestler AND a coach. Dustin remained at the company when Cody left it in 2022. His most recent appearance was the June 12 edition Dynamite where he lost against Jack Perry in a TNT Title ladder match qualifier.
