Drew McIntyre has no complaints about the terms of his new WWE deal.

McIntyre’s contract was about to expire, so he signed a new agreement announced last month. McIntyre would never leave WWE, despite speculation during the contract negotiations. McIntyre explained that he was in a position where he needed to do the right thing for his family.

In a recent interview, the Daily Mail asked McIntyre about what he valued most in his new WWE contract.

McIntyre replied, “Being happy.” “At this stage of my career and life, all that matters to me is that I am happy and that I can spend time with my family. I haven’t had that in 20 years.”

McIntyre is pleased with the increased creative freedom that talent has been given under Paul “Triple H’ Levesque’s” regime. McIntyre has been able to show off his creative abilities, but he is aware that there will always be ups-and-downs.

“I can only control what I can control when it comes to creativity.” McIntyre stated that, as we’ve seen in the last couple of years, talent has been given more freedom and there has been more collaboration. As you can see, it’s been great. It’s been a great year for a lot of people. I also got to show my true abilities. I know that with that, it’s always a case of rolling with the punches and peaks and valleys. But there’s more than that.

“We’ll have to wait and see what the future brings, but I know I’m at my prime. Drew McIntyre will not stop wrestling.”

McIntyre’s new contract is a three-year agreement.

McIntyre has an elbow injury and is currently out of action. However, he continues to appear on TV and be a part of WWE storylines. WWE has set both Damian Priest as well as CM Punk up to be future opponents for McIntyre. In a Raw segment this week, Priest agreed to give McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship once he is cleared to compete.

McIntyre briefly possessed the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania forty after Seth Rollins won it. Priest then cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase to make McIntyre the new champion. McIntyre’s obsession with mocking Punk cost him the title, according to the story.

Next month, on Saturday, June 15, McIntyre will be in his native Scotland for WWE’s Clash at the Castle PLE.
