Drew McIntyre challenges for World Heavyweight Title at WWE Clash at the Castle in todays Wrestling news
Drew McIntyre, a Scotsman, is aiming for championship gold in his native country.
WWE has confirmed that McIntyre will be facing Priest to defend his World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at The Castle 2024. The PLE will be held at the OVO Hydro, Glasgow on Saturday June 15.
Paul “Triple H Levesque” announced the match during WWE King & Queen of the Ring, which took place on Saturday.
Priest and McIntyre did not play at King & Queen of the Ring. McIntyre is out of action due to an elbow injury. McIntyre was forced to withdraw from WWE’s King of the Ring Tournament before it even began due to an elbow injury. On the May 13, Raw episode, Priest agreed to award McIntyre with a title shot after McIntyre had been cleared to return.
McIntyre briefly owned the World Heavyweight Championship following his victory over Seth Rollins during WrestleMania. Priest cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase he had won in that match on McIntyre immediately after the match. McIntyre’s obsession with mocking CMPunk cost him his title and WrestleMania moment.
McIntyre warned Punk to stay away from Scotland ahead of Clash at The Castle.
After Clash at The Castle, either Priest or McIntyre will defend their title against Gunther in SummerSlam.
Piper Niven, the Scottish star, may also appear in a title bout at Clash at Castle. WWE began a feud on Friday’s SmackDown between Niven and WWE Women’s Champion Bayley.
