Dragon Lee wins North American title in WWE NXT Deadline in todays Wrestling news

Dragon Lee defeated Dominik mysterio and became the new champion.

NXT has an all-new North American Champion.

Dragon Lee won the North American title at Deadline on Saturday. Dragon Lee was brought in as a replacement for Wes Lee who had been originally scheduled to face Dominik but was forced to withdraw from the show because of a back injury.

Rey Mysterio, who was commentating the match, hoped that Dragon Lee would defeat his son. Dominik was taunting his dad near the end of the match when he went for a 619. Dragon Lee was able to avoid this move. Lee won the match with a sit out powerbomb, and an Asai-DDT.

Dragon Lee’s first title reign is in WWE. Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio hugged each other after the match as Dragon Lee celebrated.

Dominik was not able to count on Rhea Ripley, or any of the other members of Judgment Day at Deadline.

Dragon Lee was promoted to the WWE SmackDown team in October. On SmackDown he has been in a feud with Santos Escobar.

Dragon Lee will be taking Wes Lee’s place at Deadline, as announced by NXT on Tuesday. Wes Lee will be out of action between 8-12 months after undergoing back surgery.
