Dominik Mysterio says that working an “old school schedule” in 2023 has helped him gain the respect of his WWE colleagues.
Dominik was interviewed by Chris Van Vliet on Insight. He was asked whether there is a particular match or program which made him feel that he had earned his place in WWE. The 27-year old Judgment Day wrestler said that he believes he earned the respect of people behind the scenes when he worked NXT and Main roster television simultaneously last season.
Dominik replied, “I think that it happened when – I could be completely wrong and they all could hate me – but I think that it slowly started happening when I went to NXT. I was doing NXT as well as Raw, all the live events and also SmackDown Dark Matches, sometimes SmackDown TV.” “I was basically doing the old-school schedule. I would leave on Thursday, do TV on Friday, be on the road on Saturday and Sunday, TV on Monday for Raw, TV on Tuesday for NXT and then come home on Wednesday.” Dominik responded.
“I think that earned me a lot more respect from the boys.” I mean, I assumed so, because I would see them everywhere and they’d look at me like, “Dude, don’t you get a break?” I’m like: “You know, I am just here.” Again, I could have been wrong, they could hate me. I’m assuming — because, as I said, many of the boys would come to me and say, “You have that old-school timetable.” ‘”
Dominik was twice a North American Champion in his NXT career. He’s currently aligned with Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan after betraying Rhea Ripley on Raw.
This week, Dominik & Morgan were part a media tour to Las Vegas in order to promote the sale of WrestleMania tickets 41. They attended a game of the Las Vegas Golden Knights, an NHL team, on Tuesday.
