Tony Khan is aware of Dijak’s interest in AEW.
Dijak was at Forbidden Doors over the weekend, after leaving WWE on June 28, when his contract expired. In an interview with Forbes Dijak explained his representatives at Paragon Talent Group had arranged for him be backstage at Forbidden Door. Dijak stated that Khan was aware of his interest in joining AEW and the two have a mutual respect.
“Nobody. Dijak laughed when asked who invited to Forbidden Door. “No, Mojo Rawley and Steve Kaye both arranged it for me. They have excellent connections. Steve was with me so he brought in, and brought me along. I don’t think anything needs to be approved specifically by Tony [Khan] or if people are just allowed in and out. I do know that Tony is aware of my interest and that there is mutual respect, if nothing else.”
Dijak announced on social media last week that WWE decided not to renew the contract. Dijak claimed that he tried to negotiate with WWE but they “stonewalled” and never made an offer. Dijak’s contract was not renewed at the eleventh-hour.
Dijak, who joined the Raw roster in 2024, never wrestled on Raw. His last match was on WWE Speed.
Dijak appeared in his first post WWE show at Blitzkrieg Pro over the weekend. He will be wrestling his first post WWE match tonight for Beyond Wrestling (July 4, 2018). He is back to using the name “Donovan Dijak,” the one he used previously on the independents and in Ring of Honor.
