Dijak set for first post-WWE indie match in todays Wrestling news

Dijak will wrestle in his first match after leaving WWE on the Fourth of July.

Beyond Wrestling announced that Dijak would return to the promotion this Thursday at Americanrana 2020 in Worcester, Massachusetts. He’s going to be facing Aaron Rourke. Dijak wrestles for Beyond for the first time since 2017.

Dijak revealed in a letter posted on social media that he was leaving WWE on June 28, when his contract expired. Dijak claimed that WWE “stonewalled him” during contract negotiations and never made a single offer. He was told at the eleventh-hour that his contract wouldn’t be renewed.

Dijak, despite being called up to the WWE Draft in 2024, never wrestled for Raw after joining the roster. After the WWE Draft, Dijak had one match in Main Event and another on WWE Speed. Dijak revealed that there were plans for him and Dijak to fight for the NXT Championship but he ended up being called up to Raw.

Dijak made a surprise Blitzkrieg Pro appearance over the weekend, even though this will be his very first post-WWE match. Dijak has been announced for future events by both Revolution Pro Wrestling & Prestige Wrestling.

Beyond Wrestling, a Northeast independent promotion, was Dijak’s first home promotion before signing with WWE. He’s returning to his former wrestling name of “Donovan Dijak”, which he used on the indies and Ring of Honor.

Americanrana 2024 will be held at White Eagle Hall in Worcester.
