Blue Finch Films purchased the rights to distribute this film.
Later this year, a horror film called “Dark Match”, starring Chris Jericho, is expected to premiere.
Jericho is also an executive producer for the project. Filming wrapped in Edmonton at the end 2022. Variety reports that UK-based Blue Finch Films purchased worldwide distribution rights for the film (excluding Canada). Festival dates will be announced soon.
Blue Flinch will be promoting the film at Cannes Film Market between May 14 and 25.
The movie’s description reads: “A small-time wrestler company accepts a lucrative gig in a backwoods community only to discover, too late, the community is run a mysterious cult with devious plans for the match.” The movie is also set in 1980s.
The cast includes Ayisha lissa (Transplant), Steven Ogg, (The Walking Dead), Sara Canning, (The Vampire Diaries), Michael Eklund, (Wynonna Earp), and Jonathan Cherry (Goon). The film was produced by John MacDonald, and written and directed Lowell Dean (Wolfcop).
Lowell’s page turning script made us fall in love with the film’s heady mix of action and occult. Mike Chapman, of Blue Finch Films, said that the whole team has created a genre movie that will thrill audiences on all fronts.
