Damian Priest has become the new World Heavyweight Champion, after robbing Drew McIntyre his WrestleMania moment.
WrestleMania night two saw the World Heavyweight Title change hands twice. McIntyre won the championship in the first match of the show. McIntyre’s reign ended almost instantly after it began. Priest cashed in the Money in the Bank contract he had on McIntyre so that he could leave WrestleMania the champion.
The 41-year old Priest is holding his first World Championship in his entire career. Paul “Triple H’ Levesque tweeted a message congratulating Priest for the moment.
Priest took advantage of this situation and cashed out. After hitting a South of Heaven Chokeslam, he quickly defeated McIntyre. Priest celebrated with his Judgment Day stablemates on stage.
