Damian Priest has signed a new contract with WWE.
The news of the new World Heavyweight Champion was revealed in a WWE exclusive digital release released after last night’s Raw.
Cathy Kelley was told by a priest:
This year has been great for me. New contract, a new title and a new theme song sung by me. Judgment day is on fire.
Priest won his first world title when he cashed in the Money in the Bank Briefcase at WrestleMania night two. Drew McIntyre, who had just beaten Seth Rollins to win the belt, was vulnerable after CM Punk hit him in the head with a brace.
Jey Uso earned the right to take on Priest’s belt. Uso defeated Bronson Reed and Ricochet in a four-way match to become the number one contender.
Priest also addressed his next challenger in the interview.
Main Event Jey Uso: I’m the first to congratulate your winning the first shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. Don’t let your celebrations get out of hand because I’m going beat the yeets out of you when the match takes place.
