Damian Priest claims he did not forget to kick during his match against Seth Rollins in WWE Money in the Bank.
Priest told the New York Post that there was “a situation” which led him to not kick out of Rollins’ Falcon Arrow just moments before Drew McIntyre came to cash in his Money in the Bank Briefcase. He told the outlet he didn’t want to “get into anything medical” about what happened and that it was personal.
“The idea that i forgot to kick out is not a thing,” said he. “That’s a non-issue. We never forget to kick. I’m pretty certain that after twenty years, there is some sort of muscle memory. So forgetting me was not the problem. Nothing outside was supposed to occur. There was a problem, but I was fine. Everyone was fine, and the story continued.”
Priest continued, “It has no impact on anything.” “The show continues and I believe that fans are very interested in what’s happening. The people who mattered knew what was going on and no one questioned it. It was, let’s move on.”
“Priest vs. Rollins went well until, after a series reversals and a falcon-arrow by Rollins on Priest, he was supposed kick out. He didn’t. In the heat of the instant, it was simply tabbed as an error. Referees have been taught to call this a shot, but Rod Zapata had no choice in this case because counting the pins would ruin the storyline.”
Priest is preparing for a busy SummerSlam Weekend in Cleveland. The Agora will host “Damian Priest Live”, a show that includes the defending of his World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther. The show will include a WWE 24 documentary focusing on Priest.
