The former ROH World Champion suffered an injury in a match with Roderick Strong during the July 10 AEW Collision tape. The match ended earlier than planned after he was knocked out by Strong’s flying knee.

Tony Khan, the president of AEW, posted on X Saturday that Castle would miss the remainder of the year.

“An injury has forced us to change the plans for the #ROHDBD Death before Dishonor this Friday. @theDALTONcastle suffered an injury in his Saturday night #AEWCollision last week against @roderickstrong. Dalton will not be able to play for the rest of 2024. Get well soon DC

Meltzer explained that it was a flying leg that knocked Dalton Castle out.

“He was knocked out.” The referee held up the count, because it wasn’t supposed be the pin. The referee counted three, because Dalton Castle was never shown and he wasn’t moving. He was on the floor for several minutes. So, they didn’t show any of this.”

“In the building this was a complete shambles and they were lucky that this show had been taped for this very reason,” he added.
