Conor McGregor withdraws from UFC 303 due to broken toe in todays Wrestling news

Conor McGregor blames a broken toe for his withdrawal from UFC 303 on Saturday.

McGregor revealed on Instagram the real injury that forced him to pull out of his fight against Michael Chandler last week. There had been speculation that the fight was in danger after a last-minute cancellation of a press conference in Dublin.

“We lost concentration during a training session and I hit my toe on the elbow, breaking it clean. It only takes a few weeks. I could not justify to my fans or team that I would make the walk hindered once again. This walk has already been seen. This next walk will be 100% Conor McGregor,” wrote he, later adding that he still has two fights remaining on his current contract.

Chandler was also removed from the card. The new main event is light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, defending his title against JiriProchazka. Ariel Helwani reported that there was hope for the McGregor vs. Chandler match to happen in August or September.

A minor lapse in attention and a minor injury were picked up. That’s it. Take the lesson, and move on. “I will get this back,” wrote he. McGregor will fight for the first time since July 2021 in his next bout.
