Cody Rhodes’ story ended at WrestleMania, but it is only just beginning.
The new Undisputed WWE champion, Rhodes, kicked off Raw on Monday after WrestleMania with a video tribute by WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
The Rock then entered the Philadelphia crowd to taunt Rhodes in a segment lasting more than 20 minutes. The Rock told Rhodes that the story was just beginning and that he would be coming for Rhodes.
In the Raw main-event, a new number-one contender for Damian Priest’s World Heavyweight Championship has been crowned. The match featured Jey Uso against Drew McIntyre, Bronson Reed and Ricochet.
McIntyre appeared to have the match won. But CM Punk appeared under the ring and distracted McIntyre for long enough to let Uso hit a superkick followed by an Uso Splash, securing his place as the new number 1 contender.
Raw also announced the WWE Draft, which will take place later this month. It also featured the Raw debuts for NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and NXT Men’s Champion Ilja Dragunov.
