Cody Rhodes would not mind having a manager at his side during his Undisputed WWE Champion reign.
During his appearance as a guest in Monday’s Busted Open Radio episode, Rhodes talked about how much he liked having Arn Anderson be his manager at AEW. Rhodes said that it was an element he missed when he signed his contract with Logan Paul last Friday on SmackDown. Rhodes may be looking for a “classic wrestler manager”, but he does not know who it would be.
Rhodes’ answer was in response to Mark Henry, host of Busted Open Radio, who said that Rhodes should embrace and celebrate his greatness rather than blaming some of it on luck.
“I would have loved my dad to be around me for the same reasons that I enjoyed having Arn around me.” I will tell you that I am lucky, I will tell you about my hard work, and how grateful I feel. That’s true. Rhodes replied, “It was nice to hear someone over my shoulder say that you just said.” “Say ‘We are not apologizing to greatness.’ Mediocrity is a company that we will not join.
“It was actually something I missed when Logan and me were doing this contract sign-off, to see him flanked with so many people. I don’t think I’m looking to find a classic wrestling manager who can join me in this title reign. And I don’t even know who or what they are, but I felt like I would love to hear someone holler out the stuff you did.”
Paul brought members of his entourage as well as a “lawyer,” to the contract signing last Friday. The story of the segment was Paul and his lawyer pulling a bait-and switch, changing the contract of Rhodes vs. Paul in WWE King & Queen of the Ring. The Undisputed WWE Championship of Rhodes will be at stake, but Paul’s United States Title won’t.
This Saturday, May 25, King & queen of the Ring will be held in Saudi Arabia.
