CM Punk on WWE Elimination Chamber in todays Wrestling news
Punk was one of the men who participated in the Elimination Chamber.
CM Punk was supposed to be in Australia this weekend competing at Elimination Chamber, but his triceps injury prevented him from doing so.
Punk was announced as a participant in the Elimination Chamber match for men. Punk was expected to win, allowing him to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania.
Punk, however, suffered a torn right triceps at the Royal Rumble. He will be out of action between 6-8 months. Punk has promised that his comeback would be the greatest ever.
Punk posted a comment on his Instagram stories about having to miss Elimination Chamber. Punk said that it was a tough day mentally. He wished he were in Australia performing to the fans. Punk told his fans to enjoy the concert and that he appreciated them.
Today was a tough day for me mentally. My heart and soul are in Perth. It was a long day, but I stayed positive. Nobody wished that I were there performing for my fans more than myself. Enjoy the show. I appreciate you all.
Drew McIntyre will now be Rollins’ WrestleMania opponent. McIntyre beat Randy Orton and Logan Paul in Saturday’s Elimination Chamber match. He also defeated Kevin Owens, LA Knight and Bobby Lashley.
WWE has set up Punk vs. McIntyre as a feud when Punk returns to the ring. McIntyre attacked Punk’s triceps while he was treating his injury last month.
