CJ Perry has left AEW.
The former Lana, who debuted at All Out 2023 for the promotion, revealed in an interview published by USA Today on Friday that her time at AEW has “just finished.” She has not appeared on AEW’s programming since December when she betrayed Andrade el Idolo during his match with Miro at Worlds End.
Perry said that she is now free to sign up with any wrestling promotion. She is focusing on her role as an on-screen manager, rather than competing in a ring. Since 2021, Perry has not wrestled.
She said, “I’m focused on finding talent, nurturing them and helping them to become the best wrestler and champion possible.” “I suppose you could say that I want to be Paul Heyman.”
Perry told USA Today it is difficult to compare AEW with WWE due to the differences between their products.
USA Today reported that “it’s hard to compare AEW with WWE, Perry said now that she has worked for both promotions.” “She said AEW was much more sport-driven and it’s great to see so people get jobs there. She loves WWE and the drama. She calls it ‘the best franchise in the world. ‘”
In March this year, Perry & Miro separated after seven years of marriage. Miro hasn’t been seen in action since Worlds End. He’s recovering from an elbow and shoulder injury.
