Chuck Taylor hopes to return to AEW ring after surgery in todays Wrestling news
Chuck Taylor has spoken out about his injury status.
Taylor expressed his hope on Close Up with Renee Paquette that he would be able to return to ring action after surgery.
“I can have surgery. Once I’m healed, I can reassess…maybe I’m hoping. Taylor said that many players have recovered from injuries that were thought to be career-ending.
Taylor said at the end of the conversation that he had not scheduled the surgery because he wanted to use this summer to learn more about the production side of AEW TV.
“It is not an emergency,” they said. I can’t exercise. They said that I would eventually get terrible arthritism and then they could only fuse it. I’m hoping to take the summer off to feel comfortable with the job. I don’t like to learn half and then piss it off for a bit.
Taylor initially injured his knee in October. He thought it was a bruised ligament and talus that could be treated with rehab. After rehab, the injury didn’t improve, so doctors recommended that Taylor undergo surgery.
Taylor was thrown off AEW TV in April after losing to Trent Beretta during a parking lot fight. Trent attacked Taylor’s leg with a wrench after the match and blamed Cassidy. Later, on AEW TV, it was said that Taylor would not be able wrestle again.
