Chris Jericho will be leaving his position as AEW Rampage’s commentator.

Jericho announced the news in a backstage segment during Friday’s Rampage episode. He said he would be stepping down from commentary “… to spend more time on Dynamite and Collision. “I love being on TV, you know,” Jericho said.

Jericho has been a regular on Rampage’s commentary since its debut in 2021. Matt Menard, aka “Daddy Magic”, has taken over the role of Jericho’s replacement when he is not present at the commentary desk.

Jericho, as part of his “Learning Tree” persona, debuted a talk show segment in this week’s Dynamite. The segment involved Jericho and Bryan Keith’s new stable. Hook confronted the trio, but Hook resisted attacking when Samoa Joe appeared. This set up a feud with the other side.

Jericho defeated Hook, Katsuyori and Shibata to retain the FTW Title at Double or Nothing pay per view last Sunday.
