Chris Jericho does not want to retire when his career ends in todays Wrestling news

Chris Jericho does not want to go on a retirement tour when it’s time to leave the ring.

Jericho, 53, is not in a hurry to retire from ring competition. Jericho told TV Insider that he has not changed his mind about Sting retiring and John Cena and Bryan Danielson easing into retirement. He’s just living in the moment and enjoying his work:

Bryan was out of work for [three] year. He couldn’t do any work. John hasn’t been working regularly for about the same period. Bryan has been amazing since he returned from his injuries. He is one of greatest wrestlers of all time and in the world. He will step back if he wants to. John is the exact same thing. One of the greatest ever. He went to Hollywood, became a huge star and wants to return to put an exclamation mark on his career. To me, it’s not worth it. It’s just me. I remember that The Scorpions did a big farewell concert a few years back, and then they decided to have too much fun. They came back and performed. Judas Priest did the same. The Who retired in 1983 and [are] still performing. Why do we put so much pressure on a date and a retirement? For me, it’s enough to be doing what I love at a high-level.

Jericho finds John Cena’s 2025 retirement tour awesome, but he doesn’t want it for himself.

When the time comes, I do not want to go on a retirement tour. I don’t want a big retirement match. I’ll stop. I have other things to do. I also have Fozzy, where I can get the live element. I have cruise, podcasts, and acting. I have other things going on, and have walked away a few times from wrestling. We’ll have to wait and see. Sting’s retirement is one of the most memorable moments in history. I think Cena’s farewell tour will be awesome, and people will know that these are the dates for him. John is driven in this way. He will be done when he says that he is finished and never return. Bryan has already stated that he will never retire. You won’t be able to see him as a full time wrestler but you will see him in the ring for quite some time. Everyone is different. I live in the present and love going to work each week and doing cool stuff. I will continue to do so as long as I am feeling that way.

This Sunday, AEW All-In will host a FTW Championship Match between Jericho vs. Hook. If Hook loses, then he can’t challenge Jericho again for the title. Jericho, like he did last season, will sing himself into the ring as his band Fozzy performs ‘Judas’ at Wembley Stadium.

Last night, Jericho defeated Tommy Billington in Dynamite. Hook confronted Jericho after the match but was beaten by Big Bill. This Saturday, Hook and Big Bill will face off on Collision.
