Chris Jericho, AEW My mission has always been to elevate young talent in todays Show_Type news
Jericho believes he has always been successful in his goal.
Chris Jericho says that contrary to what others might think, he has been able consistently to help elevate AEW’s younger talent.
During an interview with Gabby AF Jericho spoke about working with Hook at AEW. Jericho stated that his mission at AEW was to help the younger guys from day one. Jericho believes he has been successful in achieving this goal. Jericho cited Orange Cassidy as well as Darby Allin MJF Powerhouse Hobbs Konosuke Takshita and Daniel Garcia among those who are now more famous than they were when they worked with him.
The idea of working together with Hook had been something I had considered for some time. It just seemed to fit in with the match we had at Revolution, with the eight-man scramble. Hook was there and I thought ‘Well, let’s do this.’ The story is just beginning. But I think that we have some good ideas and some great stuff going on.
Since day one, my mission at AEW was to do everything I could to help the younger guys. Contrary to popular belief, or what you may see, it works. When people work with my team, they usually end up at a higher level than before. You can see this in the work of Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin, MJF, Hobbs, Takeshita, and so on. The list is endless. Even the guys from The Inner Circle and Jericho Appreciation society. I mean, just look at Danny Garcia compared to a year ago.
I think Hook’s another guy we’ve worked with a lot. I think we could do more with him, and add more depth to him. I also think we could give him more experience. You are only as good as your opponents. If you look at Hook and Samoa Joe’s match, I think it’s the best match that he’s had because Joe is so experienced. I think that with my experience and working with Hook, whose persona is so unique, I think we can really take this story to the next level. That’s what I had in mind for this story.
Jericho & Hook formed a tag-team ahead of AEW’s tournament to crown the new tag-team champions. Sting & Darby Allen vacated the AEW Tag team titles following Sting’s retirement.
Next Wednesday (20 March), a Jericho-Hook singles match will be held on Dynamite. Jericho proposed this match after he defeated The Gates of Agony, Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun, at AEW’s Big Business.
