Orange County, Florida prosecutors decided to pursue charges last week against AEW wrestler Cash Wheeler for his arrest in July 2023 for aggravated assault with a gun.
Wheeler, real name Daniel Wheeler, was arrested on the 27th of July 2023 after what was described as an incident of road rage in which he was alleged to have flashed a weapon at another party. The next day, a warrant for his arrest was issued. He pleaded not guilt on August 3rd and presented himself for arrest on the 18th.
He was then released on a $2500 bond and ordered to surrender any weapons he had, as well as to not contact the alleged victim.
The Prosecutors have decided to proceed with the hearing on February 20th.
Florida law imposes a maximum punishment of five years in jail or five years of probation plus a fine of $5000 for first-time offenders.
Wheeler has not yet spoken publicly about the case.
When he was arrested, there were concerns about his ability to travel to London for the All In show in August last year. However, he appeared with FTR teammate DaxHarwood to face the Young Bucks.
