Grimes will be appearing for Elevation Pro Wrestling July.
Cameron Grimes returns to the ring.
Elevation Pro Wrestling has announced that Grimes will be appearing at their Homecoming event on July 27, reverting back to his Trevor Lee moniker.
Grimes was released as part of a wave at the end April, just before the WWE Draft. Grimes appeared on the main roster only a few times as part of the Draft last year. His last match was on the April 12, SmackDown edition, when he lost to Bron Breakker.
In an interview with Busted Open Radio Grimes claimed that a “high-ranking executive” had told him days before his release he would always have a WWE job.
“I was told last Friday by a senior executive that I would have a job at this company forever. After expressing my concerns to him, I would never need to worry about losing my position here. Five days later they called me to tell me that I had lost my job. “I don’t know.”
Von Wagner, Xyon, Quinn, Veer and Sanga were also released during that week. This past week saw the release of NXT stars, with Olympic gold-medalist Gable Stevenson as the most notable.
