Brock Anderson admits that he wasn’t ready for his role at AEW.
Anderson was a rookie at AEW in 2021. He remained with the company until 2023, when his contract was terminated. Brock Anderson is the son of wrestling legend Arn. He was trained by former WCW wrestler Lodi, and then at Nightmare Factory by QT Marshall.
Brock, 27, reflected on his time with AEW while appearing on the Under the Ring Podcast. He explained why he didn’t feel he was prepared for the promotion. Brock stated that AEW was “basically TV” and there wasn’t a place for young wrestlers to grow.
“I can look back on my time at AEW and see how things were not going to be as they were,” he said. “But I didn’t know — It was a brand new company, and I didn’t know what would happen. But looking back, I don’t believe I was prepared for that. For young men, there’s no way to learn and understand the business. It’s essentially just TV.”
Brock was a regular at AEW Dark for the duration of his promotion. However, AEW Dark as well as Dark: Elevation ended in April 2023.
Brock has wrestled indie wrestling since leaving AEW. He will now make his MLW debut in New York City at Summer of the Beasts on Thursday, August 29. Brock will be a part of a tag-team with former ECW wrestler CW Anderson.
Brock was at WWE SummerSlam backstage earlier this month. His father Arn appeared on the PLE along with Cody Rhodes.
