Britt Baker speaks out about her mini-stroke in todays Wrestling news

Britt Baker reveals her experience with a transient ischemic stroke, or mini-stroke.

Baker spoke with Renee Paquette about the TIA that she suffered while on leave from the company. She said that she was in Orlando, with her hairstylist Amanda, when she began to feel sick.

“Something was wrong and the room was spinning,” said she. “Nausea, sweating… something was wrong. [The hairdresser] knew right away…and, of course, the first thing that came into my mind was something with neck. It must be my neck if I have vertigo and spinning. She hands me the bottle of water. I try to open it and my right side doesn’t work. It was numb and weird. It couldn’t work. We both panicked at the time. She said, “I think you should go to the hospital.” I said, “No, I’m fine, let’s finish my hair.” And we did. “Insane! We finished my hair.”

Baker said that her condition worsened and she drove herself to the emergency room, which he called “stupid”. The hospital immediately took her in.

“Over the intercom, I heard them say’stroke patients coming back .’…they checked some stuff, looked at my eyes, reflexes, everything, and put me into a wheelchair. The next thing I knew, I was wheeled back. They were sticking needles into me and putting all the stickers onto me to go get tests. It was very fast. The next thing I know, I was in my little room with a brochure on being a victim of stroke. It seemed like a moment had passed since I was getting my hair done in the salon and then admitted to hospital for a mini-stroke, TIA.

Baker reflected on the situation and said that it was a situation which gave her a realisation of how important it is to listen to your body.

“When you are stressed and overwhelmed emotionally, mentally, and physically, you have to listen to your body. You also need to chill out at times. I think many of us are like that. We have to go, keep going, be there for AEW and Tony, the wrestling fans, etc. We have to take care of ourselves every now and then. “We need to chill out and relax.”

Baker said she has recovered completely from the mini stroke and is now focused on training. She says that she has been “living in a gym”.

Baker was also out of action due to a herniated disk and a hip labrum injury. Baker, who returned to Forbidden Doors last month, has set her sights at Mercedes Mone, the TBS title and challenged her to a match of All In.
